The exhibition features 35 works, each 40x40cm, chosen by a panel made up of artists Bernardine Hine and Edwina Cherry and curator Jacquie Nichols Reeves. The exhibition demonstrates the scope and variety of stitched and layered textiles. Materials used range from cotton and silk to paper and cardboard and even shoelaces! Techniques include: hand and machine stitching, digital printing, needle felting, gelatine printing, plant - dyeing, collage and painting. The works address many different themes with diverse interpretations and styles. Australia Wide Nine is an initiative of Ozquilt Network Inc. whose mission is to raise the status and profile of art quilters, art quilts and art quilt making in Australia.
