Our Story - Arts Margaret River

Our Story

Arts Margaret River is a not-for-profit cultural community organisation. As the major arts umbrella organisation in the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River for more than four decades we  aim to involve all members of the community in all forms of the arts.

Our aim is achieved through a variety of programs: music of all forms, theatre and dance performances, visual art exhibitions and events, workshops, community celebrations including free outdoor concerts and activities and the largest regional Readers and Writers Festival in WA.

Over the years Arts Margaret River has grown to a quality professional arts organisation offering events which are the envy of many small and indeed larger communities. This is possible through the passion, professionalism and sheer dedication of our past and present staff, members and volunteers in keeping the arts vibrant in our community.

Our annual events program runs for 12 months. We are an organisation that is flexible, and able to recognise and respond to event possibilities at short notice.

Arts Margaret River is a much-loved and valued community organisation. To remain vibrant and fresh we continually review our focus and direction and adopt innovative and challenging new projects. Planning for the future is part of that process of growing and improving.
