Sunday Sundowner Session

The Arts Margaret River Sundowners are an annual series of free family concerts that are well loved and well attended. The Sundowners support local musicians and enable Arts Margaret River to give back to our community, and for the community to be exposed to differing music styles. Importantly, it enables low income families within the district the opportunity to attend a concert as a family group. Friends and family, some comprising four generations, gather with their picnic on the lawn and delight in the location, ambience and music.

Lotterywest Livestream Carmen

Bizet's indisputable masterpiece Carmen is staged with all the trimmings, performed by over 150 singers and musicians, in this spectacular event. The historic WA cricket ground, the scene of many epic conflicts, plays host to the loves, betrayals, celebrations and tragedies of one of opera's greatest stories.

The Uke Club are a group of locals who love to get together weekly and be uplifted by music. Incorporating guitar players, bass guitar, flute and cello along with ukuleles. Harmonies abound and their fun vibe and energy is contagious connecting them to the audience sharing the joy. They look forward to entertaining you at "Young at Heart".

The Stars Descend – Margaret River

THE STARS DESCEND unfolds over five locations. Each location will be a chapter of our story that has been co-created by professional artists and local community members. These five teams will rehearse and perform in the splendour of their outdoor location, delivering five visually stunning, immersive experiences of movement and sound.

The Sacred World Music Choir are a group of women who join together weekly to share the love and joy of singing. The songs we sing are with reverence to the Earth, and the elements, to the Sacredness of Life, and the joy of uncovering our True self.

etween 1837 and 1843, Georgiana Molloy collected specimens and seeds of the native plants of Taalinup and Undalup (Augusta and Busselton) and sent three exquisite botanical collections to James Mangles in London, who had requested the work. They were the highest quality that British botanists had ever received from WA. She was self-taught but her dried wildflower specimens are still studied in world herbariums. She died aged thirty-seven, having received no payment or formal recognition for her scientific achievements.

Miranda Aitken’s poetry has received a Highly Commended in the Tom Collins Poetry Prize, and has been published in numerous anthologies, including Westerly New Creative, Poetry d’ Amour, Indigo Journal of West Australian Writing, and Best Australian Love Poems. She has a poem on the Busselton Jetty, and her poem ‘People of the River, Bilya/River Song’, greets visitors to the Heart in Margaret River’s art precinct.
