ArtsMR Member PricingBrigid Terry is a long-time local who grew up at Wallcliffe House in Margaret River – her ancestral family home. Her family’s contributions to the region include farming, establishing the Settlers Tavern, and restoring Wallcliffe to ensure its preservation. Brigid’s connection to local history runs deep—she proudly played her great-aunt Grace Bussell with Bill Isaacs in the 100th anniversary reenactment of the Georgette rescue at Redgate in 1976.
Brigid has always had a passion for the arts and creative expression. She studied Visual Arts Education at university and has practised art throughout her life. While job opportunities in the arts were limited, she pursued a successful career in education, teaching English and working as a Head of Learning Area in schools across the southwest. She currently teaches English at Margaret River Senior High School.
Brigid is a strong advocate for the accessibility and importance of the arts in community life. As a volunteer committee member for the Busselton Settlement Art Project, she was inspired by the cultural work of Wayne and Zach Webb and supported the cultural renewal of Ellensbrook at Mokidup in partnership with the National Trust. Their vision for shared progress inspired her to become more active in community engagement, which led to her joining the board of Arts Margaret River.
She lives on a beef farm in Cowaramup with her husband and enjoys spending time with her adult children and grandchildren, who all appreciate the unique lifestyle and environment of the southwest.
