Galatée is French and Australian. Born in Paris and raised in Hossegor (a well know surfing town in the South West of France) her neighbours in early life were surfers from Margaret River.

She completed a Master in Laws in Paris and worked in the Human Rights sector for over 10 years. After moving to Western Australia in 2007, she became a Margaret River resident in 2014 with her husband and children.

Galatée is an accredited mediator and a registered family dispute resolution practitioner. She has a long involvement in the social justice and reintegration sectors, working with not-for-profit organisations and government agencies, including in Western Australia for the Department of Justice, as well as in France for an International Prison Watch.

Having discovered the great work done by Arts Margaret River when she was new in town, Galatée later joined the initial HEART Sounding Board and has continued her interest in supporting the best for the Arts in our community. Although not an artistic creative herself, Galatée is the daughter of artist (painter) and believes the Arts are essential to community and people.

Since living in Margaret River, she has contributed to a number of local community organisation boards, including the Margaret River Independent School and our Toy Library. She has also maintained an active role on the board of a French not-for-profit.
