Visual Stories Competition & Exhibition
Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival
Wednesday, May 13 @ 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Artists are invited to submit works inspired by the power of storytelling. This special exhibition will be showcased during the Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival, Western Australia’s largest literary festival.
Work can be submitted in any artistic medium and artists are encouraged to be brave, challenge conventions and create works that will stimulate new conversations, change perspectives and spark joy. The exhibition will be on display in Nala Bardip Mia – Margaret River HEART foyer gallery from Thursday, 30 April to Monday, 25 May 2026.
The entry fee is $25 and the number of entries is capped at 60. Max one entry per person.
All proceeds from the Visual Stories Exhibition Competition go towards the MRRWFestival.
Entry is open to artists from the Shire of Augusta Margaret River, City of Busselton and Shire of Nannup aged over 17. All submissions must be offered for sale at a reasonable price.

- Entries open Friday, 5 February.
- Entries close Sunday, 19 April.
- Delivery of work on Tuesday, 28 April 10am–4pm to Nala Bardip Mia – Margaret River HEART, 47 Wallcliffe Rd, Margaret River WA 6285.
- Visual Stories Exhibition Opening Event on Thursday, 30 April from 6–8 pm at Nala Bardip Mia – Margaret River HEART, 47 Wallcliffe Rd, Margaret River WA 6285.
- Collection of work on Tuesday, 26 May, 10am–4pm.
