Arts Events & Things To Do in Margaret River.
Arts Margaret River exists to support and nurture the work of artists across all disciplines, and to foster a love of the arts within our community.
Sunday Sundowner Session
Sunday, February 23 @ 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
The Arts Margaret River Sundowners are an annual series of free family concerts that are well loved and well attended.
The Sundowners support local musicians and enable Arts Margaret River to give back to our community, and for the community to be exposed to differing music styles. Importantly, it enables low income families within the district the opportunity to attend a concert as a family group. Friends and family, some comprising four generations, gather with their picnic on the lawn and delight in the location, ambience and music.
Tri Muso
Tri Muso are in acoustic trio, comprising of an Italian, an Englishmen and an Australian, no, this is not the beginning of a bar joke, but the beginning of a sound with diverse range of influences, which travel around the world and back, offering influences from jazz/reggae, pop and some good old Aussie classics thrown in for good measure.
Led by the guitarist and vocalist from Asti-Fabrizio, with his Italian tinged vocals, and the icing of Annie’s harmonies, you could be mistaken for thinking you were on the Italian riviera if you closed your eyes. Dave on on Bass, sax and harmonica makes this trio a unique blend and enchanting listen
Chris Hawker & the Medicated Meerkats
Formed in 2024, Chris Hawker & the Medicated Meerkats are a five piece band led by guitarist and vocalist Chris Hawker, alongside trumpet player Cat Bruce, pianist Jensen Emmett and vocalists Sarah Mills and Nicky Lefebvre.
With a chilled-out, reggae and pop-inspired sound, the Meerkats will get you up and dancing, or cruising on the lawn with your mates to familiar tune, thanks to a quirky mix of loops, funky beats, warm tones, rich harmonies and good vibes.
Featuring talented stage performers and internationally touring musicians who have played at venues across the South West with local bands like Doxy, Southern Sugar, Beeva Feeva, and Australian music legends including Richard Clapton, Tina Arena and Darryl Braithwaite, this multi-generational collection of music nerds promises an evening of great music for all ages and all persuasions.
“I think I enjoy these concerts even more than going to the big Leeuwin Concerts. The Sundowners really are for the community to enjoy.”
