River Stewardship Sundowner and Movie Night

Nature Conservation Margaret River

Doors open at 6pm

Wednesday, March 18 @ 6:00 PM 9:00 PM

Nature conservation

Join us for an inspiring evening exploring our relationship with rivers at the River Stewardship Sundowner and Movie Night, part of Nature Conservation’s environmental sundowner series.

Doors open at 6:00pm. On arrival, enjoy your complimentary drink and canapés before the program begins at 6:30pm.

The evening opens with a 30-minute panel discussion featuring expert speakers who will share cultural, scientific, and community perspectives on river stewardship and how we can “give voice” to rivers. Audience members are invited to submit questions during ticket processing, helping shape the conversation.

Following the panel, settle in for a full screening of the stunning 70-minute documentary River — written by Robert Macfarlane and narrated by Willem Dafoe — which explores the profound relationship between human civilisation and the world’s rivers in all their majesty and fragility.

Together, the discussion and film create space for reflection on what river stewardship means in practice — culturally, scientifically, emotionally, and as a shared community responsibility — leaving audiences feeling connected, reflective, and quietly motivated.
