The theme of ‘Growing Strong Together’, will be explored through art, music and story.  Guest speaker will be Akram Azimi, who was 2013 Young Australian of the Year.  Akram and his family fled war-torn Afghanistan and received a visa to Australia in 1999.  Akram overcame his disadvantage and lack of English to become his school’s top academic student before studying law at university.  Akram received the Young Australian of the Year award for his community work and mentoring of indigenous youth. Akram’s mother will accompany Akram and we look forward to welcoming them both to Margaret River.
local artists will also interpret the theme. Nibbles and glass of wine included.
