Cushion Making Workshop
Wednesday, April 10 @ 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Come along to create a unique decorated cushion.
This free community workshop is open to local community members aged 12 years plus.
There are two parts to the workshops – a Decoration Workshop and a final Sewing Workshop a month later. Participants can choose to attend one of each workshop.
All material, embellishments and sewing machines will be provided (you are also welcome to bring any special trimmings from home that you may like to use). Each workshops is limited to 25 people, bookings are essential.
Decoration Workshop: 10 April OR 11 April 10am – 3pm.
(Please bring your lunch, sewing needle, scissors and your imagination. Morning/afternoon tea will be provided.)
Sewing Workshop: Wednesday 8 May OR Thursday 9 May 1pm – 5pm (you do not need to attend the full time slot). Afternoon tea will be provided. The Sewing Workshop is onlyopen to those who attend the Decoration Workshop. Bookings can be made at the Decoration Workshops.
These workshops form part of Arts Margaret River’s 50th Birthday Celebrations.
The fabric that you will use to make your cushion is the original blue velvet curtains that originally adorned the Margaret River Cultural Centre’s stage.
The cushion will be yours to take home and keep but we ask that it be included in our July Foyer Gallery Exhibition. (Cushions must be delivered to ArtsMR at Nala Bardip Mia, Margaret River HEART on Tuesday 9 July). A huge thanks to the ‘Nannas on the Mend’ and Boomerang Bag ladies for giving their time and expertise to facilitate these workshops.
