Arts Margaret River Sunday Sundowner

Sunday, 25 February, 2024 @ 5:00 PM 7:00 PM

  • 1200 4
  • Dave kent 1 copy
  • Big al 1 copy

The Arts Margaret River Sundowners are an annual series of free family concerts that are well loved and well attended.

The Sundowners support local musicians and enable Arts Margaret River to give back to our community, and for the community to be exposed to differing music styles. Importantly, it enables low income families within the district the opportunity to attend a concert as a family group. Friends and family, some comprising four generations, gather with their picnic on the lawn and delight in the location, ambience and music.

Bring a picnic or support the local community groups selling a variety of food and drinks.

Big Al & The Wolf Pack

Four piece: Guitar / Vocalist, Harmonic / Vocalist, Upright Bass and Cajon / Drummer. We play authentic old style blues music. Regularly playing in Perth and the South West. Such venues as Margaret River Brew House, Beer Farm, Hally’s, Augusta Hotel, Mundaring Hotel, Rodney’s and the Australia Hotel just to name a few.

Dave Kent and The Cowtown Ramblers

In 2021 Dave Kent left his job in the city and headed way out west, back to his roots in the South  West of Western Australia.  A spark was ignited and he began writing and playing his original music.  In early 2023 he got a spot at The Boyup Brook Country Music Festival before going on to perform at The Gympie Music Muster later in the year. Compared to Colin Hay, Slim Dusty, and Neil Young, Dave writes about searching for home, country life, and heartbreak. His debut single, “Country Music” will be released in early 2024. A compelling storyteller, a captivating performer and, with an all-‐star band, Dave Kent and The Cowtown Ramblers are “the best in the West” and “completely unmissable”.

“I think I enjoy these concerts even more than going to the big Leeuwin Concerts. The Sundowners really are for the community to enjoy.”

A local resident.
