Asha Henfry (flute/vocals) & Kevin McDonald (guitar)

Asha and Kevin are a South West–based duo brought together by a shared love of music that crosses genres and generations. Blending flute, voice and guitar, they create a sound that is simple, expressive, and deeply connected.

Their music draws on a wide range of influences—from jazz and Brazilian choro to well-known classics and unexpected favourites—shaped by years of performing both in Australia and overseas. Asha’s playing has taken her from Melbourne to Brazil, Berlin and New York, while Kevin’s career has included collaborations with artists such as Diana Krall, James Taylor and Carole King.

Now living and playing in the same corner of the world, they come together in a way that feels relaxed and intuitive—letting the music unfold naturally, with a focus on feel, connection, and good songs.

About Young@HEART

The Young@HEART music program is held at Margaret River HEART every Monday morning from 10am to 11am. The program does not run on public holidays or when there is another major event in the foyer.

The initiative was developed to safely encourage participation in the arts among older residents (over 60s) during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Due to high interest, the free performances have since been opened to people of all ages. Nonetheless, the senior demographic still makes up the majority of the audience.
