In this abstract series Natalie has focused on capturing the feeling and textures of dried and flattened flowers and more particularly the Pansy, Daisy and Anemones.
Using various modern textures and techniques, including spray paint, stencils, paper, modelling and crackle paste all of which create a visually and tactilely exquisite, finished piece of art, Natalie is giving new life to this ancient art form.
However, much like ‘Oshibana,’ her work is best seen up close and personal to really capture the true essence and feeling of the dried flowers.
Come and visit Natalie and her work when she has her ‘pop up’ studio at the Margaret River HEART during the Margaret River Region Open Studios from Saturday 9th September to Saturday 23rd September 2023.
