“This is not about creating art. It’s pure creativity, self-expression, spontaneous marking. It’s paint play! A place where everyone can come to paint and play without suggestion or direction. Bring your free spirit with you, your inner child and leave your inner critic at the door.” Annie Bourgault, Facilitator

‘The Paint Play Intergenerational Project’ is inspired by Annie Bourgault’s childhood in Quebec, Canada.

Her teacher always seemed busy getting the children more paper, more paint and more space. They never spoke about what to create or were asked questions about their creations. It was pure creative freedom.

At the end of the day, most of the paintings ended up in the bin. The journey was the goal, not the result. It was not a means to an end. No one compared, critiqued, supervised or evaluated the children.

We can all experience the freedom of painting for the pleasure of enjoying creativity, putting colours, shapes and textures on paper.

To really enjoy the journey and not be constrained, all the materials will be provided. You don’t bring anything into the room and you don’t take anything out. What happens at the HEART stays at the HEART. However, your experience stays with you. Your expression of creativity will be archived.

Recommended for anyone who can hold a paint brush. This activity is suitable for children as young as three years old, but children up to six years old must be accompanied by an adult who will also take part in the creative process.

Ticket Price

$25 adults, $20 members, $10 youth (Max 12 people per workshop).
