Margaret River Short Story Competition

Call for entries The annual Margaret River Short Story Competition is now open for submissions to writers of any age or nationality. Winning and shortlisted stories will be published in print and electronic format. Prizes include cash, tickets and accommodation to attend the Margaret River Readers and Writers Festival. The winner will be expected to participate in the Margaret River Readers and Writers Festival. Two judges will read all the entries and draw up a long list. Editor of the collection, Estelle Tang will select the winning stories and shortlist for publication. Estelle Tang is an Australian writer and editor based in New York City. She was previously online editor at Kill your Darlings and editor at Oxford University Press, as well as program advisor at Melbourne Writers Festival. She has written for The Guardian, The Australian, The Age, Salon, Meanjin, Overland, and Radio National, and is a staff writer for Rookie. An entry fee of $12 for the first entry and $8 for additional entries is to be paid. There is no minimum but a maximum of 3000 words applies.
