DESCRIPTION:Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nJoin us for a celebratory evening\, with local artists sharing their works inspired by the power of storytelling.\n\n\n\nThis exhibition will be on display in Nala Bardip Mia – Margaret River HEART foyer gallery from Thursday\, 30 April to Monday\, 25 May 2026 and throughout the Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival (15-17 May). \n\n\n\nWorks were submitted in any artistic medium and artists were encouraged to be brave\, challenge conventions and create works that will stimulate new conversations\, change perspectives and spark joy. Entry was open to artists from the Shire of Augusta Margaret River\, City of Busselton and Shire of Nannup aged over 17. Stumbling across the ‘perfect wave\, two surfers start a chain reaction of events noone could have foreseen. \n\n\n\nThe true story of the first surf pioneers to find and surf ‘the point’ on Nias island\, and the dramatic consequences for them and the people and place. we travel through time and revisit the megalithic island\, taking a trip with the first surfers and the never before seen super 8 footage\, taking us on an unexpected journey through time and examining what happens when we discover ‘paradise’.  \n\n\n\nDirected by Rebecca Coley \n\n\n\n“I love it.
