SUMMARY:Moort (Exhibition)
DESCRIPTION:July 7-31. Mon-Fri\, 10am to 4pmExhibition Launch: Thursday\, July 9\, 6-8pm\n\n\n\nThis exhibition celebrates the beauty\, resilience and significance of Eucalypts. It invites audiences to connect with their ecological importance\, cultural meaning and social presence — trees that sustain habitats\, inspire stories and anchor communities. \n\n\n\nMargaret River is a Biodiversity Hotspot\, with an astonishing 153 endemic Eucalypt species found in our southwest. \n\n\n\n“Moort\,” meaning family\, connection and community in Wadandi language\, reflects the spirit of this exhibition. It also speaks to Eucalyptus utilis — coastal moort — a rare and endangered species unique to our region\, reminding us of both the fragility and importance of what surrounds us. \n\n\n\nFor many rural artists\, creative practice can be a solitary pursuit. This exhibition brings artists together in a shared exploration\, strengthening connections and enriching our collective voice. \n\n\n\nLike a thriving forest\, we are stronger\, more vibrant and more meaningful together than we are alone. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImage: Daniela Tommasi\, Sunrise at Boranup (detail) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrint\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email
