SUMMARY:A Cracker Kransky Christmas in July
DESCRIPTION:Presented by The Kransky Sisters\n\n\n\nDoors open 60 minutes prior to the event\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nA Crock Pot of Cracker Hits\n\n\n\nTime to pack your mince pies this July\, The Kransky Sisters are bringing the party to town!  \n\n\n\nTravelling out in the trusty Morris from their hometown of Esk\, these three musical siblings are eager to share their unravelling stories along with home spun renditions of popular songs deftly banged out on a wondrously odd-ball menagerie of instruments. From Britney Spears and the Spice Girls\, to MC Hammer and AC/DC\, get ready to hear popular tunes like you’ve never heard them before. \n\n\n\nComplete with tuba\, musical-saw\, toilet brush\, kitchen pot\, biscuit tin\, old reed keyboard and guitar\, this off-the-wall Christmas in July is an experience not to be missed. A night with this delightfully twisted trio will more than fill your Christmas stockings this winter. \n\n\n\nReviews\n\n\n\n“One ‘helluva’ cracker of a show!” – Australian Arts Review. \n\n\n\n“…still one of the kookiest of Christmas parties you are ever likely to experience…” – Blue Curtains Brisbane. \n\n\n\n“They have carved out a niche for themselves in Australian comedy. They’re kind of like musically-inclined Antipodean cousins of The Addams Family – misfits with a taste for tropical gothic and an eerie nostalgia for a bygone Australia\, a talent for weird instruments and music that ranges from eccentric to just plain creepy.” – Sydney Morning Herald. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrint\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email

SUMMARY:Florence and the Italian Renaissance
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Charlie Hall & ArtsNational Margaret River\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets (via Trybooking)\n\n\n\n2026 Lecture Subscription\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are all so familiar with the ideas and culture of the (Italian) Renaissance; a phenomenon that emerged in the 15th century. \n\n\n\nBut why did Florence act as the midwife for this? What did this city provide that enabled this birth\, and encouraged it to flourish? Is it something that was so efficiently reported and propagandised by people such as Giorgio Vasari in how we accept that Florence was indeed where the Italian Renaissance emerged? \n\n\n\nCharlie Hall is a passionate arts educator\, lecturer and guide\, based in London and Italy. He is a director of the highly regarded John Hall Venice Course\, (est. 1965) tour lecturer and leader of independent tours in Italy.  Charlie has designed a series of art talks and led courses for Christie’s Education and The Serpentine Gallery ‘Collector’s Circle. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrint\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email

SUMMARY:Laura's Choice (U)
DESCRIPTION:Includes Panel Discussion with Cathy Henkel and Ray Borcherds facilitated by Pam Townshend\n\n\n\nKiosk opens 30 minutes prior to screening\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nLaura’s Choice is a powerful and deeply personal documentary following 90-year-old Laura Henkel\, who decides to end her life on her own terms. \n\n\n\nAsking her daughter Cathy and granddaughter Sam — both filmmakers — to document her journey\, Laura sets out to challenge taboos around death and the right to choose when and how life ends. After a life-changing illness\, she pursues legal assisted dying in Switzerland\, inviting her family to accompany her in her final days. As three generations navigate this emotional and complex path\, they confront differing views\, ethical questions\, and the reality of saying goodbye. Honest\, confronting and ultimately moving\, Laura’s Choice explores dignity\, autonomy\, and the deeply human experience of facing the end of life. \n\n\n\nIncludes a Panel Discussion at the conclusion of the screening with Director Cathy Henkel and Voluntary Assisted Dying Practitioner Ray Bourcherds facilitated by Pam Townshend. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrint\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email

SUMMARY:MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN DESIGN
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Sue Geddes-Page\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets (via Trybooking)\n\n\n\n2026 Lecture Subscription\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMediterranean garden design is partly shaped by climate and by the flora that evolved in Southern Europe\, North Africa and the Middle East. \n\n\n\nElements of xeriscapes\, gravel gardens and Paradise Gardens have added to the visual language of the Mediterranean garden\, along with traditions in other winter rainfall regions such as California and South-West WA. \n\n\n\nThis talk illustrates some emblematic Mediterranean garden designs and traces the concepts of a regional garden style that has renewed relevance and global significance in current conditions. \n\n\n\nSue Geddes Page is a Principal Lecturer for South Regional TAFE Margaret River. Sue joined the TAFE staff as a full-time Ceramics Lecturer at North Metropolitan TAFE in Northbridge when it was known as Perth Tech. Sue has taught courses in visual arts and design\, and she has a special interest in the history of garden design. Sue says she has never got over the privilege of being paid to spend most of her working life in art schools. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorkshop\, Children’s Activities\, Studio Theatre\, Visual Arts\, Workshop\n\nPrint\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email

SUMMARY:The Memory of Trees
DESCRIPTION:An Exhibition by Heloise Roberts & Moira FearbyMay 28 to June 26Exhibition Launch: Thursday\, June 4\, 6-8pm\n\n\n\nRoberts and Fearby met as teenagers at art school and have since developed a collaborative practice interrogating place\, identity\, and environmental consciousness. Their work has received several awards\, including the 2025 Ludlow Landscape Prize\, the 2013 Black Swan Heritage Prize for Living City\, and the Castaways Sculpture Award Sustainability Prize in 2021 and 2023 for Pathogen and Insidious respectively. They have been finalists in the Black Swan Portrait Prize (2014\, 2016) and the 2024 Perth Royal Art Prize for Landscape with Echoes of Duality—Sugarloaf Rock. Most recently\, they were selected for Tracework\, a survey of contemporary art in the Southwest at Bunbury Regional Art Gallery. \n\n\n\nIn 2024\, they began a series of large-scale landscapes evoking memory and place. Crafted from drawn and painted plywood tiles\, these works imbue iconic views with nostalgia. Their modular construction allows for both cohesion and dissonance\, mirroring how collective and individual experiences of place diverge and merge. \n\n\n\nTheir work reimagines landscape as an active collaborator—shaping identity through memory\, materiality\, and movement. The exhibition\, The Memory of Trees\, traces these entangled geographies\, where place becomes a site of shared belonging that invites viewers to reflect on their own spatial narratives. This body of work extends their fascination with the natural landscape that has shaped them\, exploring how familiarity and distance shape memory. \n\n\n\nIn an era of climate anxiety\, The Memory of Trees\, offers an alternative mode of engagement with the natural world. These works do not shout or accuse; they ask viewers to remember what they love—and to consider\, quietly\, what it would mean to lose it. This is art as gentle witness. \n\n\n\nThe artists’ earlier work engaged more directly with environmental threat. Pathogen and Insidious confronted viewers with the slow\, creeping damage of ecological change. In The Memory of Trees\, they have turned toward what is precious\, what is worth protecting\, what is already being carried forward in memory. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSouth West Biennial 2026: Tracework is presented by Bunbury Regional Art Gallery in partnership with Arts Margaret River\, Nala Bardip Mia – Margaret River HEART and other participating venues across WA. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrint\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email

SUMMARY:Head On Portrait Awards
DESCRIPTION:May 29-June 25. Mon-Fri\, 10am-4pm\n\n\n\nThe prestigious Head On Photo Awards celebrates the world’s best in photography\, illuminating the perspectives\, styles\, and forms that break new ground. We want to challenge emerging photographers to bring audiences new ways of seeing the world. Our dual aim is to ensure photographers are valued for their incredible creative contributions and to create a forum where exceptional images can be shared. \n\n\n\nThis is underpinned by Head On’s diverse and experienced curation team\, which actively seeks bold\, daring\, and exciting images. Our blind judging process\, where artists’ names are hidden\, ensures this work is done on an even playing field. \n\n\n\nEvery photo is judged on impact alone\, which reflects our unique curation philosophy. Head On believes that curation must consider both the seen and the unseen. Truly great photographs reveal a truth about our world without sacrificing the imagination. They allow you to dream of what it would be like to be on the ground when a photo was made and give you a fleeting glimpse into the life unfolding around the moment. \n\n\n\nThe Head On Portrait Awards (est. 2004) is a prestigious competition that recognizes the talents of portrait photographers at all career stages. Prizes are awarded to artists who demonstrate a unique visual literacy of portraiture and innovative approaches to the traditional portrait form\, expanding our idea of what a portrait can be. \n\n\n\nPosed or candid\, intimate or public\, dynamic or static\, these portraits explore the future of photography and the depths of the human condition. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented by @headonphotofest \n\n\n\nImages: Chrystal dé Louise\, Livia Peres\, Philip Gostelow\, Sally Griffiths\, Therese Maher\, Yannis Kontos. SUMMARY:The Memory of Trees (Exhibition Launch)

With a background spanning Indian classical dance\, aerial arts\, Kalaripayattu\, and film\, her journey into yoga began as a deeply personal one. After a severe spinal injury threatened her ability to move\, Isha turned to Iyengar Yoga in search of healing.
