DESCRIPTION:Presented by Charlie Hall & ArtsNational Margaret River\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets (via Trybooking)\n\n\n\n2026 Lecture Subscription\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDescribing herself by writing\, “I am a museum”\, Peggy Guggenheim’s life took a clear path\, from commercial gallery in London\, going on a single-minded shopping trip to Paris in the late 1930’s even as the German tanks were rolling in to the suburbs\, to escape (with her selection of European artists) to New York and the subsequent establishment of her museum (and Arts centre)\, and finally the purchase of the eccentric ‘unfinished palazzo’ in Venice. Her collection remains one of the most iconic assemblages of Twentieth century art in the world. \n\n\n\nCharlie Hall is a passionate arts educator\, lecturer and guide\, based in London and Italy. DESCRIPTION:Presented by Sue Geddes-Page\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets (via Trybooking)\n\n\n\n2026 Lecture Subscription\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMediterranean garden design is partly shaped by climate and by the flora that evolved in Southern Europe\, North Africa and the Middle East. \n\n\n\nElements of xeriscapes\, gravel gardens and Paradise Gardens have added to the visual language of the Mediterranean garden\, along with traditions in other winter rainfall regions such as California and South-West WA.  \n\n\n\nThis talk illustrates some emblematic Mediterranean garden designs and traces the concepts of a regional garden style that has renewed relevance and global significance in current conditions. \n\n\n\nSue Geddes Page is a Principal Lecturer for South Regional TAFE Margaret River. Sue joined the TAFE staff as a full-time Ceramics Lecturer at North Metropolitan TAFE in Northbridge when it was known as Perth Tech. Sue has taught courses in visual arts and design\, and she has a special interest in the history of garden design. DESCRIPTION:An Exhibition by Heloise Roberts & Moira FearbyMay 28 to June 26Exhibition Launch: Thursday\, June 4\, 6-8pm\n\n\n\nRoberts and Fearby met as teenagers at art school and have since developed a collaborative practice interrogating place\, identity\, and environmental consciousness. Their work has received several awards\, including the 2025 Ludlow Landscape Prize\, the 2013 Black Swan Heritage Prize for Living City\, and the Castaways Sculpture Award Sustainability Prize in 2021 and 2023 for Pathogen and Insidious respectively. They have been finalists in the Black Swan Portrait Prize (2014\, 2016) and the 2024 Perth Royal Art Prize for Landscape with Echoes of Duality—Sugarloaf Rock. Most recently\, they were selected for Tracework\, a survey of contemporary art in the Southwest at Bunbury Regional Art Gallery. \n\n\n\nIn 2024\, they began a series of large-scale landscapes evoking memory and place. Crafted from drawn and painted plywood tiles\, these works imbue iconic views with nostalgia. Their modular construction allows for both cohesion and dissonance\, mirroring how collective and individual experiences of place diverge and merge. \n\n\n\nTheir work reimagines landscape as an active collaborator—shaping identity through memory\, materiality\, and movement. The exhibition\, The Memory of Trees\, traces these entangled geographies\, where place becomes a site of shared belonging that invites viewers to reflect on their own spatial narratives. This body of work extends their fascination with the natural landscape that has shaped them\, exploring how familiarity and distance shape memory. \n\n\n\nIn an era of climate anxiety\, The Memory of Trees\, offers an alternative mode of engagement with the natural world. These works do not shout or accuse; they ask viewers to remember what they love—and to consider\, quietly\, what it would mean to lose it. This is art as gentle witness. \n\n\n\nThe artists’ earlier work engaged more directly with environmental threat. Pathogen and Insidious confronted viewers with the slow\, creeping damage of ecological change. DESCRIPTION:An Exhibition by Heloise Roberts & Moira FearbyMay 28 to June 26Exhibition Launch: Thursday\, June 4\, 6-8pm\n\n\n\nRoberts and Fearby met as teenagers at art school and have since developed a collaborative practice interrogating place\, identity\, and environmental consciousness. Their work has received several awards\, including the 2025 Ludlow Landscape Prize\, the 2013 Black Swan Heritage Prize for Living City\, and the Castaways Sculpture Award Sustainability Prize in 2021 and 2023 for Pathogen and Insidious respectively. They have been finalists in the Black Swan Portrait Prize (2014\, 2016) and the 2024 Perth Royal Art Prize for Landscape with Echoes of Duality—Sugarloaf Rock. Most recently\, they were selected for Tracework\, a survey of contemporary art in the Southwest at Bunbury Regional Art Gallery. \n\n\n\nIn 2024\, they began a series of large-scale landscapes evoking memory and place. Crafted from drawn and painted plywood tiles\, these works imbue iconic views with nostalgia. Their modular construction allows for both cohesion and dissonance\, mirroring how collective and individual experiences of place diverge and merge. \n\n\n\nTheir work reimagines landscape as an active collaborator—shaping identity through memory\, materiality\, and movement. The exhibition\, The Memory of Trees\, traces these entangled geographies\, where place becomes a site of shared belonging that invites viewers to reflect on their own spatial narratives. This body of work extends their fascination with the natural landscape that has shaped them\, exploring how familiarity and distance shape memory. \n\n\n\nIn an era of climate anxiety\, The Memory of Trees\, offers an alternative mode of engagement with the natural world. These works do not shout or accuse; they ask viewers to remember what they love—and to consider\, quietly\, what it would mean to lose it. This is art as gentle witness. \n\n\n\nThe artists’ earlier work engaged more directly with environmental threat. Pathogen and Insidious confronted viewers with the slow\, creeping damage of ecological change. DESCRIPTION:Presented by Zara Fleming\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets (via Trybooking)\n\n\n\n2026 Lecture Subscription\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAn introduction to the history\, art and culture of this extraordinary land\, lying deep in the heart of Central Asia surrounded by some of the highest mountains in the world. \n\n\n\nDespite its geographical inaccessibility\, it developed a rich and vibrant Buddhist culture and artistic tradition.  \n\n\n\nThis lecture gives a brief overview of Tibetan history from the time of the great Tibetan Empire (6th – 9th century) up to the present day; explores the fascinating art and culture inspired by Buddhism\, introduced from India in the 7th century\, and gives an insight into the current political situation. \n\n\n\nZara Fleming is a freelance lecturer\, exhibition curator specialising in the art and culture of Tibet\, the Himalayan areas and Mongolia. Initially Zara was based at the V&A\, but also worked with the Central Asian Department of Bonn University\, the Orient Foundation\, the Royal Academy\, Tibet House\, the National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside and Asia House. Raised in a creative household as the daughter of renowned Indian choreographer Daksha Sheth\, she has toured over 25 countries and performed in more than 3000 shows across 25 international festivals. With a background spanning Indian classical dance\, aerial arts\, Kalaripayattu\, and film\, her journey into yoga began as a deeply personal one.After a severe spinal injury threatened her ability to move\, Isha turned to Iyengar Yoga in search of healing. Under the guidance of senior teacher Ayesha Dhrangadhra\, she not only recovered but developed a profound understanding of yoga as a practice adaptable to all bodies and life stages.
