SUMMARY:Living Stories – Voices of Resilience
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Artzability\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFree. Register\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nArtzability Incorporated has been providing weekly artistic opportunities for people living with a disability in the Augusta Margaret River region for the past 17 years. \n\n\n\nOur focus is on creativity\, inclusion\, and community connection. \n\n\n\nThe Artzability: Living Stories – Voices of Resilience Book Launch will be a vibrant celebration of creativity\, courage\, and powerful storytelling\, showcasing the work of 11 talented local authors–all of whom live with disability. This inclusive and welcoming event invites the community to experience bold\, authentic stories shaped by lived experience—stories that challenge perceptions\, spark curiosity\, and leave a lasting impact. Each author offers a distinctive voice\, contributing to a rich and diverse collection that reflects the strength and imagination of our local creative community. \n\n\n\nThis is an opportunity to connect\, listen\, and be inspired. It aims not only to celebrate individual publications\, but also to ignite meaningful conversations around representation\, accessibility\, and the vital role of disabled voices in the arts. Through shared stories and community engagement\, the event encourages audiences to see the world through new perspectives. \n\n\n\nUltimately\, the Artzability: Voices of Resilience Book Launch is more than a celebration of locally written and illustrated books—it is a bold statement of inclusion\, creativity\, and community pride. This project affirms that diverse voices belong at the heart of storytelling and demonstrates how accessible\, inclusive events strengthen and enrich everyone involved. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis project has been supported by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River and Lotterywest. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrint\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email

SUMMARY:Florence and the Italian Renaissance
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Charlie Hall & ArtsNational Margaret River\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets (via Trybooking)\n\n\n\n2026 Lecture Subscription\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are all so familiar with the ideas and culture of the (Italian) Renaissance; a phenomenon that emerged in the 15th century. \n\n\n\nBut why did Florence act as the midwife for this? What did this city provide that enabled this birth\, and encouraged it to flourish? Is it something that was so efficiently reported and propagandised by people such as Giorgio Vasari in how we accept that Florence was indeed where the Italian Renaissance emerged? \n\n\n\nCharlie Hall is a passionate arts educator\, lecturer and guide\, based in London and Italy. He is a director of the highly regarded John Hall Venice Course\, (est. 1965) tour lecturer and leader of independent tours in Italy.  Charlie has designed a series of art talks and led courses for Christie’s Education and The Serpentine Gallery ‘Collector’s Circle. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrint\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email

SUMMARY:Peggy Guggenheim: A Life of Collecting
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Charlie Hall & ArtsNational Margaret River\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets (via Trybooking)\n\n\n\n2026 Lecture Subscription\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDescribing herself by writing\, “I am a museum”\, Peggy Guggenheim’s life took a clear path\, from commercial gallery in London\, going on a single-minded shopping trip to Paris in the late 1930’s even as the German tanks were rolling in to the suburbs\, to escape (with her selection of European artists) to New York and the subsequent establishment of her museum (and Arts centre)\, and finally the purchase of the eccentric ‘unfinished palazzo’ in Venice. Her collection remains one of the most iconic assemblages of Twentieth century art in the world. \n\n\n\nCharlie Hall is a passionate arts educator\, lecturer and guide\, based in London and Italy. SUMMARY:Shore Break
DESCRIPTION:By Chris Pitman. Produced with Ninetyfive Theatre\n\n\n\nDoors open 60 minutes prior to the performance\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nWaiting for the perfect wave to break; a man sits with his surfboard\, his eyes trained to the horizon\, looking for the first signs of a new swell. He has found the perfect wave. But after it breaks\, the feeling doesn’t last. Eventually his unfinished memories come flooding back to him\, leaving him to wonder if there is a road back. \n\n\n\nHilarious and gut-wrenching\, Shore Break is a play about a man reconciling the damage of a life half lived. A raw and poetic performance written and performed by Chris Pitman. \n\n\n\nThe performance will be followed by a Q&A. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrint\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email

SUMMARY:The 7 Stages of Grieving
DESCRIPTION:By Wesley Enoch and Deborah Mailman. A Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company production\n\n\n\nDoors open 60 minutes prior to the performance\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nThe 7 Stages of Grieving by Wesley Enoch and Deborah Mailman continues to ask vital and stirring questions of the way we tell stories and how we remember the past. \n\n\n\nTold by a single compelling narrator – ‘Everywoman’\, the play weaves together cultural knowledge\, memories\, and personal experiences to share a powerful story of Aboriginal Australia. On its premiere in 1995\, this play was a radical act of Aboriginal theatre-making. Thirty years later Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company presented a brand-new production of this classic of Australian theatre in its WA premiere – also the first time it had been presented by an Aboriginal Theatre Company. \n\n\n\nA woman stands alone on stage. Over one gripping hour\, she traces seven phases of Aboriginal history – Dreaming\, Invasion\, Genocide\, Protection\, Assimilation\, Self-Determination\, and Reconciliation. Mailman and Enoch’s script is a potent expression of resilience and survival\, as well as humour\, joy and strength.  This production is an engaging\, moving and ultimately empowering recognition of the loss of identity and Country and the will to fight back. \n\n\n\nArtist Credits\n\n\n\n\nPlaywrights Wesley Enoch and Deborah Mailman\n\n\n\nDirector Bobbi Henry\n\n\n\nCast Shontane Farmer\n\n\n\nSet & Costume Designer Charlotte Meagher\n\n\n\nAV Designer Emma Fishwick\n\n\n\nComposer & Sound Designer Rebecca Riggs-Bennett\n\n\n\nLighting Designer Kristie Smith\n\n\n\nMovement Director Janine Oxenham\n\n\n\nAudio Visual Consultant Steve Berrick\n\n\n\nStage Manager Scott McArdle\n\n\n\nTour Manager Troy Williams\n\n\n\nCommunity Engagement Coordinator Denice Kickett\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFAB Club\n\n\n\nFABClub is a simple idea: premium theatre seats reserved for people who attend alone.
