SUMMARY:Young@HEART - Helen Rose with Kevin Jones
DESCRIPTION:Donations Welcome\n\n\n\nSign up to Young@HEART eNewsletter\n\n\n\nMusic\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHaving recently moved to Witchcliffe\, Helen plays sweet jazz standards and songs. \n\n\n\nFrom Billy Holiday’s God Bless the Child\, to Hoagy Carmichael’s The Nearness of You with a little bit of Duke Ellington’s Do Nothing till you hear from me\, thrown in for good measure. Take a walk through the jazz singers playbook and we will also visit Gershwin and Nat King Cole.   \n\n\n\nHelen will be joined by the wonderful Kevin Jones (Formidable Vegetable) playing flute saxophone or trombone\, a familiar face on the Margaret River music scene.   \n\n\n\nAbout Young@HEART\n\n\n\nThe Young@HEART music program is held at Margaret River HEART every Monday morning from 10am to 11am. The program does not run on public holidays or when there is another major event in the foyer. \n\n\n\nThe initiative was developed to safely encourage participation in the arts among older residents (over 60s) during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.  \n\n\n\nDue to high interest\, the free performances have since been opened to people of all ages. Nonetheless\, the senior demographic still makes up the majority of the audience. \n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\nFoyer \n\n\n\nRun-Time\n\n\n\n60 minutes \n\n\n\nTicket Prices\n\n\n\nFree \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFree\, Foyer\, Fundraising Events\, Visual Arts\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrint\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email

DESCRIPTION:Mind Ed Margaret River Fundraiser\n\n\n\nKiosk opens 30 minutes prior to screening\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nNumbers are everything to Grace Lisa Vandenburg.\n\n\n\nThe life of Grace\, a Melbourne-based mathematician\, is largely governed by her arithmomania\, an obsessive-compulsive need to count (three times to ensure accuracy) everything from the poppy seeds on her cake to the bristles on her toothbrush. In a chaotic\, sometimes tragic\, and constantly changing world\, Grace’s preoccupation gives her a sense of order and control. And she does her best to lead a “normal” life\, spending time with her mother and sister\, her beloved niece Larry… and a manifestation of the late inventor and engineer Nikola Tesla who is Grace’s closest confidante. \n\n\n\nFundraiser for Mind Ed Margaret River.6pm – Venue opens.6:30pm – Theatre doors open for a brief panel Q&A session led by Mind-Ed with representatives from local mental health services in relation to accessing support for Generalised Anxiety.7pm – Feature movie commences. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrint\n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email
