Young @ HEART – The Baked Beats

The Baked Beats are an energetic duo comprising of Bob Clark on guitar, harmonica, beat and vocals and Manfred Bruggler on bass and vocals
Having each played in a variety of musical ventures and all sorts of line ups for the last few decades around the Cape-to-Cape region and beyond, the ‘Beats’ play a repertoire of country rock, reggae, blues and pop music, and are primarily designed for relaxed atmosphere venues.
With much emphasis on song choice that suit a simple duo style, the ‘Beats’ are playing songs by artists such as Neil Young, Jackson Brown, Dragon, and Van Morrisson, with an improvised beat looped on cahon for rhythmic integrity.
About Young@HEART
The Young@HEART music program is held at Margaret River HEART every Monday morning from 10am to 11am. The program does not run on public holidays or when there is another major event in the foyer.
The initiative was developed to safely encourage participation in the arts among older residents (over 60s) during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to high interest, the free performances have since been opened to people of all ages. Nonetheless, the senior demographic still makes up the majority of the audience.
