Young @ HEART – RiverBugs
Monday, December 9 @ 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
RiverBugs is a local fun-filled Jazz quartet swinging tunes across genres and eras.
With tunes from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong, Aretha Franklin, Etta James and many more, the fearless four have been performing for our much-loved local venues and festivals for the past 6 years.
Scott Wise on guitar and vocals, Louise Marsh on tenor sax, Viv ‘double’ Booker on double bass and Janine Andrews on vocals will be playing a selection of their jazziest numbers from the timeless 1930s-40s repertoire. Join us for a morning of swinging tunes and if you feel like a dance, feel free to bring your dancing shoes!
“The RiverBugs is about music for music, to make people happy, make people click their fingers, have a dance, smile and enjoy themselves as much as we enjoy playing these tunes.” Janine Andrews
About Young@HEART
The Young@HEART music program is held at Margaret River HEART every Monday morning from 10am to 11am. The program does not run on public holidays or when there is another major event in the foyer.
The initiative was developed to safely encourage participation in the arts among older residents (over 60s) during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to high interest, the free performances have since been opened to people of all ages. Nonetheless, the senior demographic still makes up the majority of the audience.
Young@Heart is broadcast live on Radio Margaret River.
