Young @ HEART – Chris Hawker and the Medicated Meerkats
Monday, February 24 @ 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Join Chris Hawker and the Medicated Meerkats for a morning of laid-back tunes as we cruise into the start of a new week.
Formed in 2024, this band of locals share a passion for putting their own spin on iconic songs spanning the decades.
From Split Enz to Sting, Britney Spears, Prince and Neil Young, this collection of well-known music is guaranteed to get your toes tapping (singalongs welcome!).
Acclaimed guitarist and vocalist Chris Hawker is one of the region’s busiest live performers, frequenting stages, pubs, breweries and events around the Southwest following his move to WA with his young family.
Hawker’s carefully crafted beats and guitar loops mix seamlessly with the warm tones of trumpet (Cat Bruce), piano (Jensen Emmett) and vocal harmonies (Nicky Lefebvre).
About Young@HEART
The Young@HEART music program is held at Margaret River HEART every Monday morning from 10am to 11am. The program does not run on public holidays or when there is another major event in the foyer.
The initiative was developed to safely encourage participation in the arts among older residents (over 60s) during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to high interest, the free performances have since been opened to people of all ages. Nonetheless, the senior demographic still makes up the majority of the audience.
Young@Heart is broadcast live on Radio Margaret River
