Two big problems. One little lie. Join us for a special preview screening of The Wedding Banquet, Andrew Ahn’s (Fire Island) fresh new take on Ang Lee’s 1993 queer classic.
Frustrated with his commitment-phobic boyfriend Chris, Min makes a proposal: a green-card marriage with their lesbian friend Angela, in exchange for paying for her girlfriend Lee’s expensive IVF. Their plans are upended, however, when Min’s grandmother insists on an extravagant Korean wedding banquet to celebrate their nuptials. A hit at Sundance, this crowd-pleaser is a joyful, exuberant and contemporary take on the romantic comedy.
Featuring an acclaimed and hilarious cast of multigenerational talent, including Bowen Yang (Wicked), Lily Gladstone (Oscar nominee, Killers of the Flower Moon), Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Han Gi-chan (Where Your Eyes Linger), Joan Chen (Saving Face) and Youn Yuh-jung (Oscar winner, Minari).
