La Grande Illusion
CinéfestOZ debuts in Cowaramup with a classic French film screening at the Duggan Pavilion.
Directed by Jean Renoir and praised as one of the greatest films ever made, La Grande Illusion is “an artistically masterful feature” (Variety), a brilliant hymn to fraternity and pacifism directed by the cult filmmaker, Jean Renoir. The film stars Jean Gabin and Pierre Fresnay as French soldiers held in a WWI German prison camp, and Erich Von Stroheim as the unforgettable Captain Von Rauffenstein.
