Bystander Project

Real People. Real Stories from Augusta, Cowaramup & Margaret River

Augusta Hotel – Friday 23 October 7.30pm

Cowaramup Hall – Saturday 24 October 7.30pm & Sunday 25 October 7pm

Bystander is a community-based project that transforms the real-life experiences of people living in the Augusta Margaret River Shire into a unique, live performance.

Through the magic of theatre, original live music, photography and using the exact words of each participant, the Bystander Project hopes to open people’s eyes and hearts to the experiences we share day to day.
You may know some of these people well, others you may only have seen around our community and some you may know nothing about… yet!

These stories will offer a first-hand, personal account into the diverse experiences of those living among us. Come and join us to celebrate our local community.

“The aim of this project is to bring understanding to those living around us. We believe that everyone’s story is interesting and valuable and that by sharing stories we are able to be in the world together with greater empathy. This work requires the creative team residing in a community for 2 weeks to collect interviews, take the photographs and get to know the unique qualities of a town before creating and delivering the work in situ.”  Whiskey & Boots

Doors open half an hour before the start of the show. Unreserved cabaret table seating and bar facilities available.
