Behrouz Boochani live from Manus Island

Amnesty Margaret River invites you to recognise the plight of refugees around the world during Refugee Week

Join Manus Island Refugee and Award winning author, Associate Professor Boochani as he chats live from Manus Island with  former radio broadcaster & local historian Bill Bunbury. Hear first-hand about the hardships of Manus Island life as a prisoner.

Boochani graduated from Tarbiat Moallem University and Tarbiat Modares University, both in Tehran; he holds a Masters Degree in political science, political geography and geopolitics. He is a Kurdish-Iranian writer, journalist, scholar, cultural advocate and filmmaker. His biography, No Friend but the Mountain (available on the night) recently won the most coveted literary award in Australia, The Victorian Premier’s Award.

This is an Amnesty Fund Raising Event proudly supported by Arts Margaret River. Doors and bar opens at 5.30pm, live interview commences at 6pm.
